Welcome to Ray's Rhema (Rama)

The word rhema (pronounced hray—mah or rama with an "h" at the beginning) is the English transliteration of the Greek New Testament term, rhma, which means word, saying, what is said, thing, matter, or happening. While the Greek New Testament extensively uses logos (logo~) to communicate the idea of word or message, rhema is used in important passages such as “So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ” (Rom 10:17 NRSV), and “The word of the Lord endures forever. That word is the good news that was announced to you” (1 Peter 1:25 NRSV).

As a preacher, the word (rhema) of the Lord is my life which I communicate in words (rhemata) to others via sermons, articles, conversations and this website. The title Ray’s Rhema is a reminder of the importance of my words and the distinction between my words and the word of the Lord. I’ll be using words and my photos (note above that rhemata can also refer to happenings) to help you see the Lord clearer in both the Bible and nature.

   “The Lord bless you and protect you;

      the Lord make his face to shine upon you,

      and be gracious to you;

      the Lord lift up his countenance upon you

      and give you peace.”’   (Num 6:24-26 NET).
